- Visit mcpmate.io and click Download for macOS.
- Save the
.dmgfile to your Downloads folder. - Double-click the
.dmgto mount it, then drag MCPMate to your Applications folder.
First Launch

- Open MCPMate from Applications (you may need to right-click → Open if macOS shows a security warning).
- MCPMate will automatically scan for MCP-compatible apps like Cursor, Claude Desktop, and Zed.
- If found, you’ll see them listed under Client Apps with toggle switches.
Quick Setup
Enable Default Config
MCPMate ships with a Default profile. Simply toggle it on to start using basic MCP tools.
Test in Your Editor
Open Cursor or Claude Desktop and try an MCP-powered command. Tools should appear automatically.
